Low Idle & Stalling on warm start.

Hello All,

So I've had this stalling/low idle issue for about 3-4 months now and during this time I've cleaned out the EGR Ports, changed the EGR, cleaned my IACV and throttle body. It seemed to have helped a little bit but hasn't solved this issue. I've even changed all 6 of my coils and spark plugs. And I've seen this is an on going and reoccurring issue for other people as well.... Every so often my Check Engine light will come on and it will give me "random misfires" for some unknown reason. I've double checked everything but haven't looked into the FPR or my O2 sensor yet. My friend who used to work at Honda helped me with some stuff and believes it might be my O2 sensor and my uncle (mechanic) thinks it might be my FPR as well. I have a 2000 Acura TL, 2nd owner (previous owner worked at Honda and he maintained it well) and I've maintained for the past 100,000 miles myself. I never try to bring it into Acura unless I truly have to. But my car starts up fine when the engine is cold or cooled down, but after driving for some time and turning the engine on and off excessively, it will eventually stall when trying to start it up. It falls under 500 rpm and then dies. I have to maintain the rpm between 1500-2000 in order for it not die. Even while driving my RPM stays around 500-650. I've read forum after forum and still can't find a solution and so here I am inquiring about whether or not someone can help or any other solution I should look into. I would greatly appreciate.

Take a look at the crank sensor connector and cam sensor connectors for corrosion or broken wire.

I've actually had similar problems with the IACV and stalling issues. Changed my IACV and it still acted up every now and then. I did end up getting a bank 1 02 sensor code pop up after it had stalled out. I erased it and it never came back on and I haven't had any stalling issues since. I still want to replace that 02 sensor to see if I'll see any more of an improvement. One other thing you can check are the throttle body gaskets, Did you replace them when you changed your IACV ?

I checked and cleaned the Throttle body gaskets and IACV, but I didn't replace them. I recently changed the 02 sensor and the stalling and low idle has become better but not as bad as before. Still digging through forums to see what else it could be...

Have you removed the throttle butterfly and brush clean its edges so as it shuts closed sealed on idle. Also make sure the throttle butterfly is installed at the correct position as its edges are angled against the throttle body throat to shut air off also at idle.

Secondly, on the IACV, separate the electrical component valve that exposes the magnet cavity on one side and a bearing w a protruding rod. Make sure the rod w the bearing spins smoothly when you install it back.
Try and check if it gets better .
