Leaking water on front passenger's feet

I took my car through a carwash today and my wife complained that she had gotten wet. I thought she was joking, but she showed me dirty water dripping from under the dash where her feet were.

Maybe 2 Oz of dirty water dripped there. The guy working there sprayed water at the base of the windshield. I'm wondering if it was due to water being sprayed into the cabin air inlet.

Does that sound plausible? Has this happened to anyone before? I'm wondering if this has ruined my cabin air filter or worse. I haven't had a chance to take out the glove box and look around yet.

Your windshield seal might be broken.

sounds like the drain for the hvac or one of the other drain tubes is plugged?

^x2. You can try to open up the sunroof, and right on the top right corner, you will see a drain hole there. I guess you can start from there to trace where the clog is.

Were you running the A/C? I bet the water was really cold, right? Its probably the drain for your HVAC, like kris said.

I'm not sure I understand what the two of you are suggesting.

He said it sounds like the HVAC drain is plugged. Wouldn't that result in dripping at that location at other times when the A/C is on as well?

The only time we've seen it drip is while we were in the car wash immediately after the attendant sprayed near the stowed windshield wipers. I assume that the water that wound up in the cabin was either from that spray or from the car wash.

Are you guys implying that extra water that enters there normally would be drained away by the HVAC drain but since it is plugged it backed up and found an alternate route into my cabin?

Or are you suggesting that it is normal condensate from the A/C that isn't making it out because of a clogged drain and it is just coincidence that we noticed it during the carwash?

If it ONLY does it after carwash-you probably have a leak elsewhere..sorry, I thought it sounded like a condensation leak from the AC.

Could it be a leaking windshield?
