leaking fluid from ps pump

just noticed that i'm leaking fluid from the hose facing fire wall from power steering pump, also noticed that other hose facing opposite way is also losing fluid because hose is wet. is this just the pressure hose from ps pump or is it the actual ps pump that needs replacing?

I remember running across a post somewhere about a leaking O-ring that causes air to get into the PS fluid, which then causes the fluid to foam and spill out the reservoir. Don't know if that might be your issue, but if so, it was a simple fix.

no bubbles

there are no bubbles forming in the resorvoir so i dont think its the o-ring. i've noticed that the pressure hose is leaking a little fluid.

Have you cleaned everything up well to determine the exact source of the leak ?
Once it's cleaned up, with the motor running, have someone turn the steering wheel while you carefully observe the area for
any signs of a fresh leak.

You mentioned the pump's pressure side hose is leaking slightly, is the leak only noticed at the fitting where it connects to the pump
....or somewhere else ?

p/s leak

i've noticed it has sprayed upward on the underside of the hood. had a mechanic look at it and he said it was the high pressure hose. it is also quite noticeable at the connection of the pressure hose and the p/s pump. any idea what could of caused this?

By the description given, my guess would be that the hose has developed a pinhole leak on the rubber hose near where it's compressed onto the bolt on connector. Lot's of pressure and possible wear may have contributed to the leak !

You have nothing to lose by unbolting the connector, checking the mating surface and then re-install the bolts to proper torque.
