Just bought a 2001 TL.. Transmission question

I just bought a 2001 TL that has 166,548 miles. According to carfax i am the third owner and according to the local Acura dealer this car had the transmission replaced at 112,337 miles. After reading a good amount of posts on here I have not seen many about the replaced transmission failing again. Is this correct?

In a members post, I saw that he mentioned he might get a "General Electric Automotive Warranty" I looked up their website but it did not say specific information on what cars they will grant and not grant. I am just trying to take some precautions with this car. I am not having any visible transmission problems at this moment (based on transmission dying on an Audi in the past) What are some good options, if any?

Any suggestions welcome. Thank you
Brandon

Do you know when the transmission was replaced? That's important since there's some hope that Acura corrected the major reliability problems in February of 2005. There have been some scattered reports of the revised transmissions failing but it's not clear if that's statistically significant.

On the other hand, many of the pre-Feb 05 replacement transmission have failed. Some owners went through several transmissions before reaching 100,000 miles.
