Question Issues with 1 headlight and fog lights

I own 2002 TL-S and my dealer indicates 1 of my headlight needs a new inverter but I'm curious how do they know it's not the bulb? Are they able to test if the inverter is bad even without taking it off the car?

Also both my foglights have broken lens and they indicate one of the bulb needs to be replaced. Do I need to replace the whole assembly for this? Does complete fog assembly come with bulbs? I was looking at buying these.

Also I thought about just buying the Lexan lens:

Is the lens hard to replace? Also what would be a good matching fog lamp bulbs to the headlights? 6000k? Would these work?

Thanks.

Take the bulb and switch it to the side that you know is working. If it fires up, then you know its the inverter/ballast that's causing an issue.

Use the DIY for the Lexan Lens if you want to go that route:

Also, those LED fog light bulbs are questionable to me. I would rather spend an extra 20-30 bucks and go for an HID kit. Or for non HID bulbs, go for PIAA. But that's just my

Going the Lexan route seems like a lot of work. If I go with the replacement fog assemblies does it include fog lamp bulbs? Also could you give me some links to the bulbs that I could simply swap out that would match the headlights?

Thanks.

Still trying to figure this out. As I understand it PIAA doesn't need any conversion kits, just the bulbs. Do these just replace the existing bulbs?

Would this PIAA bulbs work on 2002 TL fog lights?

Also is this conversion kit any good? Are these easy to install and ok to mount to the car?

Those bulbs are not PIAA brand. I don't really know much about them. I was talking about these http://www.piaa.com/Bulbs/Bulbs-9000.html

My friend has the PIAA Ion yellow in his fogs and it looks like he has HIDs.

The ebay HID kits are hit or miss. It would be better to go with a company like HID Xtra or DDM Tuning. They have better support if something goes wrong and are just as cheap.

If you get the new fog light housings, they will not come with bulbs. You will need to buy a new pair of 9006 bulbs. Also, depending on the color of your car of course, these housings look great http://www.uniquestyleracing.com/20actlstglst.html

Thank you for the links. PIAA bulbs seem little more expensive then others. Do these match the factory headlights closely?

Someone else recommended these.

Any thoughts on these?

I have black TLS and those this would have looked great but I already placed my order.
