Unhappy Interior Leak

For the last couple of weeks, any time we get a rain storm I get damp carpet in the driver's side foot well. If it rains hard and long enough it'll be standing, about 1/32". I can physically see it run down the foot rest pedal in the corner. So at first i thought maybe the windshield had been replaced and the seal had been broken somehow, so i took the cowl off and put some silicon at the corner. This didn't solve the problem, so I did some searching on here and learned about the issue with the sunroof drains. So I checked that, and its draining properly.

So yesterday, I get up close and personal with the underside of my dash and realize that where the brake pedal attaches to the firewall, there is a large tear in the underside of the dash material. I stuck my finger in there and the insulation stuff is completely damp and when i pulled down on it, water came running out.

So i figure this weekend, i have to pull the dashboard apart to try and see where this leak is coming from, but before I did that. I wanted to see if anyone could suggest where water is entering from in order to end up in that location?? I'm hoping Kris responds since he has had his dash removed to do his swap and hopefully shed some light on the subject.

Again, this only happens when it rains. The car can be sitting still or moving. Any help is appreciated!!
