Intake system

When I removed my stock air filter system there was a lilttle radiator in the box, and don't know where to put that other small radiator. FOr now I just tied it with something. Is that small radiator necessary and where do i put it when I have my AEM short ram intake system?

you obviously have a '99TL - that was the only year of the 2nd gen TLs that have that thing. Do exactly what you did - there will be 2 coolent lines coming into the box - just hook them together to complete the loop. nothing else, so you can remove everything else as long as you get the lines together. I followed them up to the engine and was able to get rid of a few unnecessary lines just to kinda clean it up.

the easiest thing is to follow the 2 lines that come out of your small radiator thing back to the engine and connect them together. you can make it look like the 2nd picture I have with my hand holding the final 2 hoses - You can buy that hose connector at a hardware store.
I first got rid of where the coolent flowed below that metal piece (that goes into the front of the air intake tube) and that left the lower left hose in the first picture open. There was coolent flowing in and out of the bottom of the throttle body (2nd pic), but I bypassed that also (because of the thermoblock spacers I have/black spacer inbetween the throttle body and intake manafold in the first picture). its really hard to explain on here, but if you look at the hoses, you will easily see the path that the coolent goes - just make the hoses look like my bottom picture to bypass the most (or just hook the two hoses together right out of the radiator thing because it all can come out)
sorry if that is vague - ill try to help more if you still dont understand

THanks a lot it really helped me out. So the little radiator is not useful, just connect it with hoses right?

ya you can get rid of it - the function is in your manual, something about below a certain temperature, that flap in your stock intake box would close shut so the intake air would have to pass over that little radiator to warm up...a completely stupid idea - first off the stock intake is restrictive enough - making the intake temp. that hot will only make power go down more.
