Intake Manifold Issue

I got a little adventurous this morning and when i got into my intake manifold this is what I saw. There is oil, small rust particles, and corroded metal. What can I do? Is there a deeper problem that I need to get checked out? seafoam?

Also, I am not sure as to why I cant see my picture. could someone let me know if I can make a change to my settings to allow myself to see all pictures posted? half of them don't show up on this site. Thanks.

use a photo hosting site (free) and click the box for sizing- `for web page display`
then copy that link and paste on the page you are working on here
it will display for all then!

oil in the top of the intake is normal, part of the blowby
replace your PCV (10$)

what other stuff is there, does it look like leaks from coolant or compression?
corroded inside ore outside of manifold working area?
cleaning the port/passage thru length of manifold now?

note= the upper cover gasket is easily flipped upside down, and will fit but block egr port!
making you repeat the job to flip it back right side up
ck against top piece, not the engine block side,

just viewed pic, looks like plugged egr system
carbon buildup and blowby

use carb cleaner to soften crud then a wire coat hanger to poke poke poke and pull crud out of each port to cylinder, and the length of internal passage
expect 3 to 4 cans carb cleaner to do a good job

the main passage from the 2 holes under egr valve goes thru to the other end where its wide and has all that crud on the walls etc

Yep, looks just like mine did before I cleaned it. Get yourself a few cans of carb cleaner and lots of rags to clean up this mess. You really need to take your time and clean out the egr port holes until all the crud is gone. I would also recommend you remove the EGR valve itself, clean it and the port on the block with carb cleaner, then lubricate the arm of the egr valve. You will need a new gasket after you remove it...it's cheap.

you must remove the egr valve and go thru the 2 holes below it- into the intake manifold with the wire coat hanger--do it from the other end of manifold too--where the large opening with crud is

that passage leads all the way to each cylinder, if not cleaned it wont flow right
If you dont get the length of the passage it, and do just the ports, its still not fixed!

Thats normal looking for an uncleaned egr port. Like the others said, take it apart and clean it.
