Cool How to Hardwire Ipod to 03 TL 3.2 ( this method will be under $3 )

Hi,

would anyone know how to hard wire an Ipod to the CD/Cassette player for a 03 TL 3.2 ????

One way is to use the FM transmitter.... have tried this and there is too much noise component in this.

Second method is to Solder the output of the Ipod to the pre-amp pins of the IC inside the player.. at the Printed Circuit board level of the Cassette or CD player.....

If you see this link you would know what I mean - http://donn.dyndns.org/projects/carstereoinput

Total cost would be under $3 !!!!! and sound quality would be v v good !

any guesses....advise.... help would be much appreciated.....

I can post a DIY when I do it.... need some tips and trials from anyone who has tried it....

Cheers !

If you are just determined to find a "hack", then my post may not be for you...

Since the TL stereo has the AUX jack for use with an external CD changer, you can just pick up one of these: http://blitzsafe.com/catalog/acura/cat_9.html

I did this for my 2002 TL-S and I use it for either an MP3 player or an XM radio.

Cost me maybe $60-$70, but it's a clean solution.

It's on the back. You can search the forum for instructions on how to remove the stereo, or in my case, I was able to squeeze my hand behind the stereo after I removed the panel next to the passenger seat. So, I didn't have to completely pull the stereo to get to it.

Crazy. I wish I could do that. It's a pain the freakin ass to take off the 50 screws + 20 pieces (yes i know i'm over exaggerating).

anyway, here's a PDF on how to take apart the console shit.it's written for a CL, but it's nearly identical for a TL

(page 17 is what you're lookin for)

Kennelm,
I was interested in your solution. Could you tell me which one exactly you bought from that page?
