How do you Program The Imobilizer chip in our keys?

Just got my car back from the dealer for the 60,000 service, fixed heated seats and a brand new tranny. Problem is they only reprogrammed the key/keyfob that i gave them when i brought the car in for service. So now i have my other set of key/keyfob that i need to reprogram. I have searched and i found the instructions on how to program the keyfob but i have come up empty on how to program the actual key itself.

Anyone have any insight into this or is it something i have to bring back to the dealer?

I'm confused, why would they reprogram a key fob? Didn't you leave your key and transmitter with them when you had the car serviced??

Why would they reprogram your key and fob for that service?

I don't know why but my key and keyfob i gave them when they serviced the vehicle works. But the key and keyfob that i usualy use, now does not work at all where as it did before. I'm guessing they reset a lot of stuff for some reason when doing the tranny replacement and only reprogrammed the key/keyfob they had. So now i need to reprogramm the other set of keys i have and usually use since it is mem1 and only the mem2 key/keyfob works. I know i could just switch keys but i would like to have 2 working keys just in case.

I'd just bring it back to the dealer and let them take care of it.

they shouldn't have done anything with your keys.

i know. But when i put the key into the ignition and turn it to on, the green security key flashes constantly like the manual says it will when the key is not recognized by the car and also like the manual says when i try to use the key to start the car it won't turn over cause the fuel pump is deactivated. So whatever the hell they did, they did something to where the car doesn't recognize the key anymore, as well as the fob. Battery in the fob is fine it worked the day before i dropped the car off and the battery in the car itself is less than 6 months old

Ok, next step is to take a trip to the dealer and explain what happened and have them make it right...don't try to figure this out on your own..if it was working before, they need to fix it!

When they did the tranny replacement, they must have replaced the PCM as well. So you'll need to bring your non-working keys back to the dealership to have them programmed into the PCM to make them work.
