hmm.. tranny?

I'm heading down the shore earlier today and my CEL and TCS lights come on solid. Car drives and shifts fine.. only symptom i could notice is that it seems the RPM's are dropping a bit fast when i lift off the accelerator.

It did have 1 hard downshift as I slowed from about 70 approaching a toll.

But it never locked me out of any gears, didnt enter limp mode, idled fine. shut down and restarted fine.(still cel, and tcs came back on after XX miles)

transmission was rebuilt in April - 2000 non-s 126,xxx on the odometer total.

back to aamco, i suppose?

Get the codes read and let us know what they are. Those lights come on together for many thing other than trans issues as well.

just updating this.. took the car to my mechanic on friday, they pulled the codes.

it was nothing related to the tranny at all.. misfire codes. they spent about 20 minutes checking it out and then we took it for a test drive. no lasting issues found. they cleared the code and that was that.

I have the same issue with my TL. The code that came up was for a clogged EGR valve.

misfire codes mean a coil is failing--buy one and try on each cyl till the prob is fixed

clogged egr valve is actually clogged egr PORTS thru the intake manifold
99s have 1 port later years have 6! and still need to be cleaned every 75kmiles
see DIY section:
have to remove intake, poke out carbon with a wire hanger (no kidding)
and 3 cans of carb cleaner to wash it all loose and out, car will run much better afterwards.
Flip the TB over and clean the IACV at the same time

When I was having hard shift problems it turned out to be a bad throttle position sensor. Didn't throw a code for a while but then it popped up.

Lemme guess...you're from Jersey/NYC? We're the only ones that say "down the shore"
