HID Problem, please chime in :)

Hey guys, I have 6000k bulbs for about 8 months.

My right headlight, the bulb keeps on going off when ever it wants, possibly when I hit potholes, but usually whenever it wants. To turn the bulb on, I just turn off the headlights for 1 sec and put them back on, and everything works fine until again the right headlights goes out.

I put oem bulb to see if the same will occur and it doesnt so its not the ballast.

Im thinking somehow the contact with the 6000K bulb is messing up, I rechecked the connection a few times, everything seems fine. I even cleaned the metal terminals on the bulb and the plug.

The bulb works, the ballasts work, so Im confused.

Any suggestions? I think a few of you had the same problem with aftermarket bulbs.

sounds kinda weird, but the same thing happened to me, what i did was take the bulb out clean it with alchol, then i took the ignitor plug and a wire brush, dripped a lil alchol down it, cleaned it out, then i made sure the bulb was put back in the ignitor PROPERLY and TIGHTLY, and since then it has yet to give me a problem. give it a try, but you never know mabey I just had a simple problem, you never know now adays with them damn HID's!

my brother has this same exact problem with his HID's on his Civic Si but his problem is the connection of the metal piece thats connects to the top of the bulb itself maybe thats whats wrong with yours also because he has the same EXACT problem......the contact with that llittle pin that starts at the top and runs down the side of the bulb might not be connected all the way

ok when u remove the HID bulbs make sure the new ones fit properly because sometimes the phillips wont fit in the osram fitting and vice versa I've seen it on a few cars I had a slight prob like that on mine and I wedged it a lil bit and it locked into place but the first time I installed the light and locked the ignitor on it turned it on it flickered. I realized that the bulb wasnt sitting in place correctly and the ignitor didnt lock on properly i took it apart and went through the process again and no more probs since then. I installed 10000K GE d2s bulbs

Alright, here is the update:

Now my headlights became even worse. Everytime I hit a pothole or a good bump the right headlights goes off, sometimes rarely the left goes off.

I've checked the ignitor and everything else, everything seems fine.

If someone encountered this problem please give me some ideas of what to do, im sick of turning the headlights on and off.

bro the bulbs may be defective, "MAY" I know the ground thats there isnt all that impotant i jus left mine disconnected because it became so lose on the pin it wouldnt stay anymore so i said "fuck it!" I tried so many things and it still seems fine check the connections to the ballast the relay to the headlights the fuses EVERYTHING and then if it all seems OK then the ballast n ignitor r broke bring it back have em change it the are basically obligated to, unless u have no warranty left

i dont know, man, they were fine before, worked beautifully for a year or so, and now this problem

Im sick of playing with them, i cant remove the whole assembly under a minute with my eyes closed; thats how much experience I have with them.

Really frustrated but I DO NOT want to go to stock.
