HID problem
So passenger side headlight went out on my 03 TL-S. I checked the bulb and its working fine when switched with the driver side. Check the ballast and the ballast seems bad. I bought a new ballast and replaced it, still my passenger HID would not turn on. I checked the passenger igniter by hooking it up with the driver side ballast and it would work. So the not the bulb or igniter, but it shouldnt be the ballast too because it a new ballast. So I removed my passenger ballast, igniter, and bulb and hooked up to the driver side and it would work. Took the same set-up and hook up to my friend 03 TL passenger side and it would work also. However when hooked up to my car passenger side, the light would rapidly flicker with static sound heard for 2-3 seconds, then stay turned off. Anyone has any ideas whats wrong? Even tried different bulb with same result.

you got an open in your circuit feeding your ballast/ignightor. find it and fix it.

well you would remove the ballast and ignitor and check for the proper voltage at the plugs providing them power with a Digital Multi Meter

Always Working In
X2 measure the voltage at both sides. If they're different which they probably will be there's the problem. You've already seen there's no problem with the equipment. In electrical circuits trace the problem back to the point of origin(electrical source).

no problem. same thing happened to me. i didn't check any of the fuses before hand so i ended spending $$$ on a new ballast/igniter for no reason.
now i have a working ballast/igniter for sale now.

that depends on which side the headlight went out on. i don't know if the fuse box varies from model year to model year, but on my 02 TL-S, when you open the fuse box, my fuses for the headlamps were located on the most front left section of the box.
also, the inside of the lid of the fuse box should have a diagram or picture showing which fuses are for which parts of the car.
assuming all your bulbs, ballasts and igniters are fine, when you pull out the fuses, you should be able to tell whether or not the fuse is blown.
