Help needed with over heating problem

Hey everyone, I could use your help trouble shooting/diagnosing my over heating problem. While driving the car with the AC on, it started to get pretty hot. I was going up a hill and it was a hot day. I hadn’t any problems with the car getting hot at all before this. I turned the AC off, but the temperature continue to increase I pulled over and anti-freeze boiled out. The 99 TL has 140,000 miles on it; the water pump was replaced at 130,000 miles. I tested the radiator cap at AutoZone and it wasn't holding any pressure. I replaced it and put in some more Honda approved 50/50 anti freeze and thought I had fixed the problem. But this morning on my way to work, the temperature got to about 3/4. Both fans are working; both radiator hoses are hot to the touch... Any help would be great! Thanks!

yep... might have air in the system.

Would both hoses be hot if it were the Thermostat?

Thanks guys, I will try to purge the system completely (I should have done that in the first place). When I added the anti freeze in, I turned the heater on all the way, hoping that would do the trick.

Would both hoses be hot if it were the thermostat?

I have a similar problem and i've heard it could be a blown head gasket, but i've seen my oil and there are no air bubbles and it's the color it's supposed to be. I guess it's only air in the system as stated above. by the way, i'm not using the thermostat since here the weather is pretty hot.

Check your oil and water/coolant and see if it looks abnormal.

I had this problem back in 07 when I took a 300mi trip away from home, it didn't start until I got to my destination. Turns out my radiator cap was bad, had that fixed along with a coolant flush. Hasn't overheated since

After purging the system correctly, I haven’t had a problem (in 2 days)… I will update you guys if it gets hot again. Thanks again for all of your help!
