Hi there -

I was attempting to flush my brakes and made a bit of a mess... So, I sprayed a bunch of foamy engine brite under the hood and hosed it down to clean it up. I left the hood open and let it air dry for an hour. Now, the car starts up, but after about 20 seconds, the check engine light turns on, then the TCS light (traction control) and then the engine quits. The engine runs nicely when it runs, but then it just turns off. Arg! Any ideas?

 

Probably suck up some water in the intake..

 

Well, it's been like 4 and a half hours and no change. The car starts fine, and idles fine, but the check engine light is on. Then, after 2 minutes and 15 seconds or so, the TCS light turns on, and 20 seconds later, the engine dies. Doesn't matter if it's idling or revving. This makes no sense...

Any ideas? Anyone?

 

Could this be the EGR valve I've been reading about?

 

More than likely a connector or sensor. What is the CEL code for......might help !!!

Quits reving when im driving, i have to turn it off and on again for it to run

 

Heybeni, some more details would be helpful.
Is the CEL on ? Any recent work ? Will it idle smoothly ?
