Heated Seats

I just bought a 2003 TL. I used the heated seats this morning for the first time. I noticed that only the lower back on the drivers side heated up. Nothing on my butt. The passenger seat seems to be fine. Is this normal? Has anyone experienced this?

Thank you. I thought it might be an issue. I will bring it to the dealer. I still have a couple of years left on the factory warrantee. Thanks for your response.

Yep you will probably need a new seat element. If under warranty it will be covered.

Damnit!!!! I went outside and turned my seats on....I drove around for 5min or so and only the back of the seat felt like it was heating up.....Got out and felt bottom of seat and the only warmness was from my ass WTF! 02-03 owners I suggest you test your seats before winter.....Now I have to go 2 the service department. Ohh well...in 3months Im Moving down to Cape Coral FL...Won't need the heated seats unless those lonley nights

Unhappy Good Question!

I am currently having the same problem w drivers seat, only the back heats up. I did notice for a while, that the seat part seemed hotter than usual right before it stopped working. Any idea about this or what the cost might be at dealer?

Bought my 03 TL last week with the same problem off warranty but the dealer agreed to replace the seat element. Had to remove the seat to repair. Back of seat heats ok. Passenger side only heats the butt seat, back of seat doesn't come with a heating element.
