When that or any part of the HID system goes, its best to install an aftermarket kit of new HID parts including the invertor.
$60 for good stuff, 200 for high end- includes 2 new everything -get 5000K color bulbs

Less than 2 hours DIY at a casual pace. If you can operate pliers you can do this job AND have a more reliable system than OE.

note! mle724- this is a gen2 1999-2003 TL section of the forum,
You need gen3 for exact DIY help
