Head Light Problem

I believe I have a headlight bulb that is out/low? One is alot more blueish bright than the other. I'm wondering if all i have to do is buy new bulbs? it shouldn't have ne thing to do with the ballast right? Anyone know where i can order d2r or 6000k bulbs for a 00TL? which should i get? thanx for da help guys

Yes it is possible that one of the bulbs is out. It can not be the ballast because if it was the ballast then the headlight wouldn't turn on in the first place. When you first buy your car your HID bulbs usually are bluish white, then after colorshifting (it happens after 100 hours of HID use or so) they turn to white. The sign of a bulb coming to its end is usually when the light turns yellow then redish white and then the bulb goes out. As far as the 6000k bulbs, well you can buy them from ebay or the AZ vendor, i believe there is one but for that you would have to check the AZ suponsered sales section in the black market forum, goodluck.

To correct a bit of misinformation in this thread (I know its late in the game but just in case anyone else reads it after searching... yeah right, like noobs are going to search)...

Color-shift takes place after some hours of usage, the idea was right. But actually, when the bulbs are new they can be a yellow-white color when warmed up. This will change to blue-white as the bulbs color shift. Then at the end of life they lose the blue hue and can start to look yellow or even pink before final failure, should you ever get to that point.

BTW 8000k means you're losing a lot of light output. Stock 4100k is the best light output, 6000k is the best compromise of light output and color, and anything past 6000k is where lumens drop quickly.
