well, getting no help but what ever.

started the car up since 3days of just sitting. still misfired, so i changed out the crankshaft position sensor, those timing cover bolts are a bitch, so i have 4 left over, whatever it pissed me off so i said fuck it, its on their tight enough. so i started the car and runs great. im gonna take it for a test drive in a few and see what some load on the engine does

I can't tell from that pic- is that a bare wire or?

I once had a Taurus SHO that would just stop running, as if the ign. switch was turned off. It would always restart as if nothing was wrong. After the car lot mech. (from where I bought it) replaced numerous electrical parts it turned out to be the cranksh. position sensor. After that was replaced it never did it again. That's probably why whoever owned it got rid of it. Good luck, I hope that fixes it.

u know what. i was really easy on the car after i changed the sensor, shifts below 2-2.5k rpm. went to start it up a few min ago, slight vibration. started driving it, i thought the steering wheel was gonna come loose from the vibrations. WTF. fuck this pos, im done with it. gonna part it and leave it in front of my house. fuck the tl, never again.

so i have plugged in a better scanner. everything checks out great. all sensors are within limits. still misfires. BUT, it doesnt misfire abover 4700-4800rpm, so when vtec kicks in, and after going wot and peeling out it will stop misfiring. but other than that, it misfires all the time, anytime of the day.

i have also changed the egr valve, fuel pressure regulator, and cleaned teh egr ports. still misfires. so than i proceeded to kick the shit out of the car, but still misfires. lmao.
up next is either fuel pump or ecu.

nkg iridium spark plugs
fuel injectors and rails
2 set of coils (12 diff coils packs)
egr valve
fuel pressure regulator
map sensor
crank shaft position sensor
cleaned egr passages

AND the violet steering vibrations only happen in 5th gear above 40mph so im gonna say that its a trans problem. FML

maybe an o2 sensor? i would like to see the live data on the scanner cuz that can definately help. also try getting a fuel pressure gauge to check if your pump is putting out the right amount of pressure.

i scanned it. all was within specs. thats why im lost now. im gonna go to the dealer soon (have a friend thats an acura master tech their) so we will see what he comes up with. but first im gonna change the fuel pump. but that means i have to take out my whole sound system from teh trunk. FML again. never again am i getting a system that fills the whole trunk

i thought it was the map or o2 sensors. but those were within specs.

dont change the fuel pump til you know thats your problem. since your friends an acura tech have him check the fuel pressure he hsould have the adapter for the rail. ive had weird problems with o2 sensors where they look within spec but when you hook up a scope they drop out and go crazy.

so just drop the car and no signs of misfire at any rpm or gear. so the misfire happens when it wants too

If I can fix the car myself than I will. I don't like other ppl working on my car unless they have too. Ahe he's been in florida for the past two months or so. When he comes back next week ill let him figure out the problem

so i changed teh fuel pump, car ran good. next day i go to start it runs like shit.

heres the thing now. i just started to unplug the coil packs one by one, and cyl 2 had no effect on the engine when i unpluged it. so cyl 2 is misfiring. i tried 6spare coils and they had no effect one the engine. so i tried one of the good coil on the engine and still had no effect on the cyl. either its not getting power or ground. cant be fuel injector bc i replaced all of those and it cant be spark plug bc i replaced all of those also. more

no. bc its only one cyl. more cyl would be misfiring if it was timing. the engine would be destroyed by now if it were timing

Have you checked or replaced all the coil pack wire leads? Maybe it's something stupid like a bad wire.

Im still guessing its a possible ECU issue. Have you done a compression/leak down test yet. That would also cause your issue. I would preform a leakdown and compression test. Especially on #2.

456 in the front. 123 is in the rear. just test cylinder number 2. see what happens. could have a slighlty bent valve for that cylinder. thats happened to me before.

maybe it wasnt alldata. but i remember reading it somewhere.

but yea then it would be cyl 4 thats not working. but it was working fine today after work. so its not bent valves. maybe sticking injector or open in teh wire?

could be a bad injector. now that its narrowed down to one cylinder id do the compression test. also since its intermittent right now just move that injector to cylinder 5 or 6. if u move the injector to 5 move the coil to 6 so u can diagnose it easier.

All data or where ever you got it was wrong like above, its

123
456

I would run a compression/leak down test to that cyl and see what happens.

I am also having I weird misfire issue, and its getting worse. Its kinda random but usually happens if I let the car idlle for an extended time, like its loading up. If I run the shit out of it the miss will clear up. Sometimes it doesnt wanna start, but if i flip the key on and off a couple times to like prime the pump its fine. the scanner tells me 1-6 misfire, bank 1 lean condition, random misfire, and manufacture whatever something I dont remember.

i got the same prob. i tried compression and leak down test. everything is in specs. i tried swaping coils and still i get it. like if its idling i dont see it or feel it it only happens when im driving. and yesterday when i was driving the engine light started blinking but it only happen for the one time than it stopped. im really lost i been trying to figure this out for like a month already. i was just thinking about taking in to acura to. cause of this shit im tired of tl's. ima try a valve adjustment and if that dont work i say fuk the tl cause im tired of this. even with my other tl it gives me so much problems and i put so much money into it and still treats me like shit

I was reading another thread and was thinkin.... are you overheating or losing coolant at all? Is compression good on your cyl? Could it be bad head gasket?

Started the car up today, no misfire. Cruising 80 no misfire. As soon as I hit 85 under really light acceleration, check engine light started flashing. Went back down to 80 and no misfire. Got off the highway ans the misfire came back. Haven't hooked up the scanner to in in a while. Ill do that tomorrow after work ans see what's up
