Hard shifting after overheating

Hi!

Recently had motor mounts replaced on 2002 Acura TL few months back...fast-forward to overheating a few weeks ago and radiator fans replaced. Now after some test driving, its shifting hard from 1st into 2nd and a little into 3rd...Could this all be related somewhere? Thoughts?

Thanks!

Hi, depending on how hot the transmission got it could cause damage. If the fluid gets too hot it will start to break down. It doesn't take much. Now for a few questions.
Any burnt smells?
Any high pitch whines or clunking noises?
Any gears slipping?
Any unusual vibrations?

First thing I would do is change the transmission fluid and filter. are you a DIY person or a pay to get it done person? The reason I ask is there are methods to changing the fluid when you do it home. generally the transmission holds about 7.6 quarts but when you drain it you will get about 3 quarts out. So there are methods to fill and replace, basically done 3 times in succession (driving it a little between drain and fills).

was anything done with the thermostat when it was overheating? there is a ground point that connects the the thermostat housing. it supplies ground for the portion of the wire harness that controls the shift solenoids.
