Ground location for headlights.

My headlights have never worked right for years. Sometimes they would turn on fine on first startup, other times it would take a few key turns. Sometimes this would result in one being on or none at all. This was after they had just worked! I replaced the ballasts on both and I'm still having this intermittent problem.

Does anyone know where the ground is so I can fix this problem once and for all?

Same

I've got kind of the same problem so I didn't make a new thread. There's this little pigtail that pops out the side of the bulb igniters but I can't find where that connects to for the life of me.

If your marker lamps are on when you turn on your headlights then the grounds are good. Assuming your new ballasts are good then your ignitors are the problem.

The wire coming from the bulb goes to the ignitor and then to the ballast. The ballast is mounted to the bottom of the headlamp.

This little wire with a female connector.
The lights turn on all right but I don't like leaving loose wires.

That loose wire is not normal for a 2g TL from the U.S.A., I'm guessing it's probably for a JDM headlamp or anther country model of Honda/Acura.

The good news is you don't need that wire so don't worry about it. Just tie it to the black cable and make sure it doesn't short out some how, just in case it's hot.

That does make sense since my TL is a Canadian model.

It worked perfectly without the pigtail connected. Didn't seem to need it.
