On my gf 2002 TL, when we fill the tank, we get gas spills but not from the fuel filler, looks like it comes from under the filler?! is there a gasket between part 17 and part 18? the top portion of the fuel filler pipe looks brand new, no rust at all, some rust on the lower part but no leaks there and no gas smell...

Have ya tried supporting the car, then pulling off the rear wheel to closer inspect the filler pipe area within the wheelwell while putting gas into the tank ? Could be where the pipes connect or maybe a vent tube.
