engine shakes after timing belt and water pump replaced

Hello everyone,

I am new to this website and I've read many useful posts here.

Here is my issue:

I just had the timing belt and water pump replaced at one of the shop. I noticed the engine shakes after the timing belt and water pump were replaced. Especially when I first start up the car. It shakes less after the engine is warmed up.

I took it back to the shop and they technician said because he disconnected the battery so everything was reset. He told me to drive it for a few days so that the engine will get back to normal.

I've put over 2k miles and the problem does not seem to go away.

what could be the problem? could the mechanic missed something?

Below are the list of services has been done on my 1999 acura TL. It costs over $1100.

-replace factory timing belt
-replace factory water pump
-replace timing belt tensioner
-replace idler bearing
-replace timing belt adjuster
-replace cam shaft seals
-replace crank shaft seal
-flushing up coolant system
-service transmission system
-replace tor converter

thanks for your help.

Normally, when you disconnect the battery and reconnect it, the engine will shake a little within 20 miles or so for the ecu to re-learn the timing. But if you had 2k miles and it is still shaking, it seems to me the timing belt was not installed properly, or something could have happened when installing the new parts, like missing the vac lines.

Is there loss of power? Maybe its a tooth off on one of the cams? Worse case scenario is that he might have bent a valve rotating the crank while the belt was off already. Were spark plugs replaced at the same time?

when the tech says drive it 2 days and its still bad at that point- get it back in -
driving with a vac line disconnected or some other problem- for 2000 miles!!!! really bad for the engine
its a lot of work on the service, and things happen when humans do the work.
Shops are required to warranty the work for a short time- 30-90 days usually
but they shoudl still take care of you- probably minor vac hose bad or off

These things run like 200hp sewing machines- smooooooth

no spark plugs on your list- no valve adjustment and what trans service did they do? looks like it says torqe convertor replaced but that would require $500 labor to get the trans out- which means the engine seal they replaced must have been the front too
1000 is average price on the 105 service- as long as they do a good job on everything and use the good parts

Thanks everyone for your input/feedback.

Just a quick update:
I brought my car back to the repair shop and they found the front motor mount is going bad. The right front axle is bad too. The previous owner put some cheap brake pads, so the mechanic suggested to also resurface the rotors, replace all brake pads with OEM parts.

Estimated: another $800 for motor mount, axle, resurface the rotors and replace brake pads.

I am planning to have it done this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes after all these are fixed.

thanks again.

Guys,
my car has the same vibration problem. So, I have done the following work on it (actually a good mechanic did the work)
1- All motor mounts replaced
2-Front upper and lower Trans mounts replaced
3-Timing belt, all tensioners and water pump replaced
4-All 6 spark plugs replaced with the ngk (OEM)
5-Transmission fluid drained and filled (not the complete flush)
7- Throttle body cleaned and OEM air filter replaced
8-Two cans of seafoam ran directly through intake manifold (before replacing the spark plugs of course)
so, the engine shakes real bad when i come to a stop in only D mode. does not shake in reverse or park. shakes more when engine is hot and less when its colder.

2007 TL Base with Nav and backup cam. 118K miles
