Dude,
Get the actual code ! I checked the code list and here's all I could find with a TCC reference.
"P1887 TCC Release Switch Circuit (***(May not be applicable for Honda / Acura)***)"
Notice the note in brackets....
Get the code...
smartypants

there is always a code number- the car doesnt spit out actual info
remember codes are clues to the prob -not a real diagnosis in itself- as they are often misleading
Have to figure out why a certain combo is together and go from there

Torque Converter Lockup Malfunction.
Unfortunately when that happens its usually time for a trans rebuild. You can try changing ALL the fluid by doing the drain fill procedure a bunch of times, and taking the solenoids out and cleaning them, rest the ECU and see if it comes back.

TCC is probably P0740. Your torque converter is probably burnt up...time for a new tranny. The clock is ticking. I went about 1.5k miles with P0740 before getting a rebuild. Other people have had failures much sooner.

Sorry guys. as long as the TCS light is not on. the car shift gear's fine, as soon as the light comes on that's when it starts to slip. DID a tranny drain and fill at a local acura dealer a couple of months ago. I should have went with the LS

what year is your TL? and mileage?
not salvage/rebuilt title? usa car?
Amazing how often a higher mileage car goes to the dealer for a 3 qt trans fluid change and soon after-- the trans fails~
Washed out the crud holding the clutches together
If a reasonable age/miles you talk to the service MANAGER, explain you were just there for trans service and now you need some `Goodwill Assistance`
as it has predictably failed

replace all the fluid, clean the solenoids and hope it works. If not you need a new trans.

I think he needs a complete diy--
(sound of Alices restaurant playing in the background)
on 27, 8 by 10 color glossy photographs
with the circles and arrows pointin to the Offending parts, and a paragraph description on the back of each tellin of what they was looking at ~
gen3 has a great diy

good used acura trans..and a dash of miltary intelligence? I mean- those words dont go together!
probably not from a junkyard~when they sit they go bad
maybe from a trans rebuilder shop that has one built and ready to swap with you
or get yours redone
or in our private sales from someone doing a 6 speed swap
