So for the past few days my radio, A/C, and Dashboard and gauges, as well as headlights would all turn off for a few seconds, then turn right back on today.

Today on the way to work, the actual engine would shut off and turn back on for a few seconds. Is this the ignition switch? My alternator and batter have both been tested as well as the engine and they all came back good.

 

So i changed the Ignition Switch electrical part and the problem did not get better. The car turned off on me about 10 minutes after changing. Now the car wont go back on and nothing electrical works right now, windows, trunk.

Even this dashboard lights stays on while the car is off here is a picture. Does anyone have any idea what the issue is?

 

This is with the key completely out of the ignition.

 

anyone At all? maybe even a clue? Im desperate here and dont have money to bring to acura.

 

Perhaps a relay is on the edge and staying energized ????

 

What is a relay.. sorry I know only limited things and where can they be located pictures would be best.

I still have no Vehicle. its still going crazy. with all the same symptoms. all lights blinking flashing and turning off car chokes up and wants to die. Sometimes it dies. And then sometimes it dies and will not turn back on and indicator lights on dash stay on even with out key in the ignition. Currently car is at my friends house who used to work for acura.... havent had a car in 3 weeks now..... car will only restart inf battery gets disconnected and then reconnected. Tried changing battery, and cable ends. has anyone had this problem or could offer some more answers. also tried ignition switch. not sure what else to look at. the guy who has my car is also the one who put my new engine in. however even he is kind of stumped at this point and has never seen this before. we are both kind of looking for a little more help in what direction to look. if anyone can help that would be great!

 

Download the factory service manual which should have electrical schematics.
Apparently there is a wiring problem somewhere, may be the process of elimination for the trouble-shooting and diagnosis of what's wrong.

Hey SarahSTAR401, were ya having these electrical issues prior to replacing the motor ????
Recheck all the wiring harness connections.

 

i dont think it could be that he put the engine in almost 2.5 yearss ago.

 

So, after replacing the ignition switch.... did anything change or get worse ?
It almost seems like there's either a poor connection or a bad ground somewhere. Was any recent work done besides the switch ?

Maybe a faulty interlock or a broken/loose wire somewhere. If ya have the electrical schematics, try to check and eliminate some things if possible. May need some pro help !
