Engine check light on
ok guys, its been over 3 weeks i have that light on, i thought it would go off by itself. However it hasnt. So i took 10 dollar gas after it was empty 3 weeks ago and i might, not sure, losen up the gas cap when closing. However i put gas in it about 5/6 times after that,(all were $10/15), but the light is still there. anybody knows how i get rid of it? do i need to fill it up to top?
uh oh...might be a tranny....
mine was on for a month and tranny died.
im not sure but..
i believe check engine light caused by many things..
if you have a warranty go to dealer or go to local shop to check.

^^^^ what he said.
The check engine light is there for a reason. 'Check' means check...don't assume it'll just go out by itself! See what the heck it's trying to tell you.

It can be a bunch of things but if you want have it go off then hold down the 2 buttons on the gauge cluster, i think it is trip and reset at the same time and then put the key in the ignition an turn the car on (Don't Start the engine) while still holding in the 2 buttons, and after about 10 seconds it will go away. I would still suggest getting it looked at though.
