I bought a '99 TL in October of '05, and it now has 96k on it. The egr valve threw a check engine code 6 monthes or so ago, and I replaced it and the egr valve gasket with a new one. Unfortunately after running Sea Foam through my gas last week (I only use premium as recommended) the check engine light for the egr valve is back again.

Has anyone else had this problem and have any recommended fixes?

It may be the egr port may be plugged up(possibly not cleaned out when the egr was replaced???

 

what would I need to do to clean out the egr port?

My brother '99TL threw the EGR code a while back and we just cleaned out the port w/o replaceing the valve. He's been driving for about a week now and no code.
