For those who don't know what 'Sopwith Camel' is

I have 2003 TL_S and it now makes double-wing airplane sound.
When run at 60mph or above I don't feel much, but, when I try to reduce the speed, the sound gets obvious. It really bothers me.

Any one has similar symptom? or any idea?

Loose heat shield underneath the car?

 

Maybe its a leaking exhaust?

 

One of the two above.. if its sound like a click its your heat shield and if its a deep sound its a leak..

 

I wanted to bring it to a dealer to find out the problem
and they are going to charge $98 (or above) for initial diagnosis


If it's turned out to be a defect, would it be covered by warranty?
Should I still pay the $98?

 

just listen for it and search it out. you should be able to find it. there is no reason for you to spend 100 bucks then spend more to get it fixed

 

It might be the tranny
