So a couple days ago I got into the tl and when I started her up, this message appeared on my navi screen saying how either the dvd door in the trunk was open, or the disc was not installed. So i checked it out, even took the disc out and cleaned it, still nothing


Im wondering if maybe its time to get a new disc, in that the one in their is the one put on when the car was manufactured.

I was getting the same error with my DVD unit. Cleaning the disc didn't help. In the end I removed the unit, removed the cover and sprayed the door sensor switch with electronic contact cleaner. That eliminated the problem.

That may not work for you but it might but it might be worth a try.

good lookin bro, I think that might work because now that I think about it, that door hasnt been opened in probably god knows how many years. I gonna give it a try
