Double beep with alarm

Whats up peoples??? I know this is probable a silly question but I have to know.

Do you guys know the soft beep that goes off 2 times when you press the alarm on luxery vehicles??

I have a 1999 Acura 3.2 tl, and I wanted that beeeping sound, a guy in my building has a 98 Tl and his has that sound. How do I get that sound on my alarm. First off, does anyone know what the hell I'm talking about?????????

Ours flashes the lights when you lock/set the alarm. Hit the button twice and you get the beep.

No, the horn goes off, I don't have a problem with the horn sound, but there is a softer double beep that goes off when you open the car and lock it, you hear it on alot of the luxery cars, I was just wondering why the TL doesn't have it.

Unfortunately there is not much you can do about this. THe 1999 models use a horn that is attached to the driver's side supsension tower underneath the hood. THe 2000+ models use something totally different, you'd have to purchase a whole new multiplex (computer) unit to get the soft sound that you are referring to. Oh and I should add that these units are anything but cheap. Sad thing is you can easily spot at 99 TL just by the way the security horn sounds when locking the doors.

Not a dumb question at all. The multiplex controller is located on the passenger side underneath the glove box (in the same area where the ECU item #4 is located). It has absolutely nothing to do with the engine or tranny, it is a separate unit specifically for controlling the security features of your car. Without it, you would not be able to program your factory remotes and therefore would not be able to lock/unlock your car. Not sure where exactly it is in the picture below, it is either #2, #9 or #12. Hope this helps.

The soft "two beep" sequence you're hearing is probably Toyota/Lexus vehicles. My car is an 02 and emits a single "beep" like a Toyota when I hit the lock button twice. But there is no audible verification of unlocking, just the lights flashing twice.

I wish it did the beeps, and I wish it flashed the turn signals rapidly rather than the parking lights. But all in all this is a very minor preference and I don't hold it against the TL.

the car doesnt have a alarm with impact sensors. If you use lock the car and something other than the key or remote is used to unlock it the alarm will sound. If you leave teh windoes down, lock the car with the remote, then wait a min unlock it by hand by pulling up on the lock and open the door it should go off

so u need to wait a minute?

hmmm i got a problem. My security LED on my driver door does not blink anymore.

I tried locking myself in with the remote and then try to make the alarm go off by unlocking the car with the power lock switch right away. I opened the door but my alarm did not go off.

I'll try to wait a minute first. But I'm pretty sure there is something wrong if my Security LED does not blink when the car is locked with the remote....

Anybody know how to fix my problem????
