hey everyone, i have no idea what the hell is going on with the car now?! i was driving today and i was in tiptronic mode and i took off from the light in 1st gear, i kept driving an driving it stayed in first so i put it back in d4 and it shifted okay thats one, then in the mddle of driving the car shut off! i had to star it back up again it shut off again, started shut off( while moving) then i finally turned it over and it ran, couple mins later same problem while driving it shut off! i tried turning it over about 8 times it didnt turn, the idels were fine when i had it going but then it shut off!? anyone know whats wrong? any kind of help would be welcomed! thank you

Id probably look into the ignition switch. They are know to go bad and cause the car to shut off while driving.

 

I agree- sounds like the electrical back part of the ignition switch has failed
It will turn the engine system off then back on-

usa cars had a recall for it- ck acura dealer canada and see if you may get one free too!
If not go to the parts store and order
See the DIY section for install help
if the dealer did it once before it will be easy
usa cars only get 1 free then on the customer for next failure

SS mode- it is up to you to shift it!
unless 99 has a feature to autoshift 1 to 2 even in SS mode?

 

no man i had it in ss mode i know i have control of the gears, but one time it didnt shift i was loking at the 1 the whole time, it wouldnt let me shift up the rpm sounded like it was in 4th gear? so i put it back in auto and it like jucked the car but so far its fine have no idea but thanks guys much appreciated!!!!
