do a single drain fill. NEVER have a oil change place do it. They like to use flush machines which honda DOES NOT want you to use. Also use Honda fluid!

I just did mine 2 nights ago, and it was basically an oil change...Just drain and refill..
Do it yourself. The fluid cost me 28 bucks through Acura.

since you have a 2nd trans its not as bad on miles as the shop guy thinks
BUT
I agree with fsttyms1- do a simple 3qt drain and refill on the trans fluid
thats a little under half its capacity and will be ok
use only HONDA atf from honda dealer or import parts store
anything else spells death

make sure to loosen and retighten the fill and drain plugs when cold... or its a pain when warm

Do 15 minute freeway cruise to warm the fluid and get crud in suspension.. so it will drain out

DO NOT add any trans cleaner!!

Hmm, I cruised around for about 30 mins right before I started, and both plugs were a breeze to remove..I did hit the drain plug with pb blaster due to rust in the ratchet square though, and I used an extendable ratchet.

probably because it was a recent trans
you were lucky
PB rocks!

I write in generic terms for future readers: stop, ck the bolts when cold--before they climb under a hot car
Plus I was taught make sure the filler plug opens before you pop the drain plug-
would be a real problem getting fluid back in!!

Yup...And yeah, I learned always to open the filler first as well.
