Don't know what to do

What's up guys need your help again , I own a 03 TL-S it has 105k Ihave a surging problem with the RPM'S it will flunctuate between 2 to 3 thousand in hot weather , in cold weather it wouldn't do it. I replaced the tranny at 85k , changed the spark plugs timing belt and valve adjustment and the IACV at 102k. If I put the car in park it will go up to 3500 RPM and I won't be able to put in drive because it will lock , I would have to turn it off so the car could cool off a bit. I'm trying to sell it so I could get off the payments but I don't want the next owner to have problems , I've taken it to the dealer and all they do is take my 110 dollars for diagnostics. I really don't know what to do, anybody out there with a suggestion or advice ? Please thanks you !

what was the dealer diagnosis-
they didnt take your money and offer no answer did they?

offhand guess with limited info:

IAC is dirty or failing--new parts fail as much as old ones do!
remove TB from engine and clean IACV on bottem of TB

next guess: TPS Throttle Position Sensor is failing--seems likely,, as iac prob is usually in the 1000-2000 rpm surge

can you get to a parts store for a free code scanning?

I did go to pep boys and it's showing the p0740 code which we all know is the torque converter . But I've done everthing the dealer has said that was wrong , IACV, timing belt, and valve adjustment bringing a total of 2000 dollars of work for it to continue.

I don't think that the torque converter has anything to do with idle fluctuation. Could have more that 1 problem. Could be IACV, TPS,or vacuum leak.
