dirty egr or idle control valve?

some times when i just rev my car slightly in neautral or when i come to a stop. the rpms will drop and dip lower then what idle is and the car struggles for a second then hops back up to idle.

only does it when the rpms drop. if i just let the car sit and idle nothing like this happens.

not quite sure what it is. doesn't do it every single time but probably 50 percent of the time.

i have a similar problem with my 99. but mine does it when i start it up after iv been driving around for a while....say i drive to my friends house ,park , go to store, park, and i come back out to start my baby up and she gives me a low idle after it turns over...if i hold the rpm's around 10g she stayes fine and finds the right idle.....
just a side effect of me neading a tune up at 107,000
my friend who is a mechanic says it could be a possible vacuum leak......?have to look into it....

Its could be your EGR. My car does the same thing and is giving me a 1491 code for EGR flow but my car does this when both CEL and TCS light come on-if the TCS light is off my car idels fine? I'm new so bare with me.

most likely its in the programing of the computer

Timslunch2 your egr ports need to be cleaned. Do a search for egr cleaning and you will find links and diy's that show you how to clean it

Demolition-x . Did you find out what 's wrong with your car ??
I got the same problem but only happen30% of the time when
the car is idling at the red light intersection ! maybe it is the IVAC
but wonder if my old ( 02 tlp ) radiator anti-freeze might make
the IVAC misfunction ? Time to flush and change the anti-freeze
and hope the problem will disappear >

its not really a problem, just something i have noticed.

when my tank gets to a 1/4 tanks im gonna run some injector cleaner see if it helps.

if it actually does stall thats when i will take it to the dealer. dunno how they would act if i have an intake

Idle controle valve.. if your rpm jump up and down only when the car is stopped, check it maybe you can clean it .. or you will need a new one..
