Dash Lights Do Not Work AFTER HU Installation

So a HU was installed in my car and now my instrument cluster lights as well as my dash lights do not work. All the fuses are good I checked panels as well as under the hood. I took apart the dash and found out that a wire harness was not used and the guys just cut and spliced all my wires. I narrowed it down and the LIGHTS ON SIGNAL and the DASH LIGHT BRIGHTNESS CONTROLLER needs to be connected to something and its not. So does anyone know what i should do??? ANY SUGGESTIONS is better than driving in the dark.

is the dimmer switch working? disconnect the dimmer switch, when your looking at the plug its a 6 pin connector 123456 check resistance between 4 and 5. it should be between 0-20k ohms when you adjust the knob.

yea, ok ill check that in the morning. hypothetically speaking what if it's not the dimmer switch where do i go from there. does it have anything to do with the LIGHTS ON SIGNAL and the DASH LIGHT BRIGHTNESS CONTROLLER wires?? they are getting power when the headlights are turned on and off when the headlights are off. should i just cap those off or are they suppose to be connect somewhere??

Those wires dont need to be connected. My lights worked when it was disconnected. I still think something is hooked up wrong. Who did the install? Id bring it back to them.

^ Agree- why don't you take it back to the installer & ask them to recheck it if it worked before the installation?
