Cranky when Cold

When running my CLs cold, it runs slightly rough around 20 mph if decelerating from a higher speed or traveling at a consistent 15 to 25 or so. Sometimes when cold and right before the the 3rd gear upshift at 1500 RPM the tach goes up and down a few hundred rpm. It kind of feels like the Intake Air Control Valve is not functioning right (had similar but more pronounced symptoms when it was on the fritz just over a year ago). I had the unit replaced by the thieves at Rick Case Acura who charged me $500 for the 2 minute swap.

I did bring the issue to the forum a few months ago and a member pointed out it was the 3rd gear band in distress. As I have since noted the other issues I am hoping that it is not the dreaded tranny swap. I had one done at 65K by the thieves at RCA under warranty.

Overall the car is slightly cranky when cold and does not run as smoothly as my sons 03 CLp until warmed up some.

have you done any fluid repacements on the trans since install?
How does the fluid look- color and smell now..burnt sugar smell, brown fluid?

whats the car mileage now?

normal maitenance like egr cleaning and new spark plugs been done?

rev increase like that is not a good sign
let a trans shop ck it for codes and give you an opinion

I did and got no response.....

Good idea on the tranny shop but who can you trust? I could take it to the thieves at Rick Case Acura but they will hit me for $125 just to look at it.

I will do the EGR cleaning procedure next weekend.....

at this point you want to know if there are codes stored, indicating trans prob
any big trans shop will do that free and test drive it

dont have to trust them- you have acurazine!!

If it were the plugs you would notice some hesitation on WOT acceleration.

This issue always rears it's ugly head from 10-30 mph. I am going to check around today for a trustworthy tranny shop. If there is an issue I could buy an extended warranty and when it goes have it replaced. I could sell the car but these vehicles are seriously undervalued. Besides I would not in good conscience sell a time bomb to someone else.
