The other day I popped my hood to put my battery cover i forgot to put on last week and the coolant reservoir tank looked low, I opened it up and it was completely empty, I usually check it dont know how long its been like that def has to be less than 1 week but still not good So i filled it up to the max line and about 4 days later its halfway down..is this normal i dont see any leaks and theres no puddles when i park my car overnight or when i start up and let it warm up no dripping or nothing...What can this be?

 

Take your radiator cap off and make sure the coolant level is full in there. If it is top off the coolant overflow tank and just check it to make sure it isnt going low.

 

If the coolant continues to go down for no apparent reason.....then a pressure check of the cooling system may be in order to help detect a leak.

 

appreciate it, I just took off the radiator cap and topped it off and I am going to check how long it will take the reservoir tank fluid to go down.

 

So how low was the rad's level ? Was the fluid normal in appearance ?

 

Yeah looked normal usually how long would it take for your coolant to get low like that in the reservoir tank?

 

It should really never get low, unless you have a leak or the engine is consuming it.
