Coolant leak?

My wife's car I noticed is leaking a some coolant somewhere above around where the oil pan is. hadn't had time to jack up the car to see where. before I do this does anyone know where it might be coming from, what is in that area that the coolant can leak from?

That could be coming from the water pump leak. If it was water pump, better fix it asap to avoid damaging timing belt and kills the engine. What year and miles on your car? did it have the 105k service?

yeah I got the timing belt and water pump changed at 120,000 and now I have 160,000. I still have awhile until it needs changing again right? it's a 2000 model.

what exactly does pressure testing the coolant system do, will it be able to find the leak? also what is a leak down test will that find the problem also, maybe?

Start searching from the top side. It may be a coolant hose. There are a bunch of them that are small around the TB area that could be leaking. Next would be the heads, search around them. Then the H2O pump side. Pressure testing will help determine if there is a leak. The system is sealed and should hold pressure. If there is a leak it wont.

I checked all the hoses and couldn't find the leak then I looked and looked until I seen this, the leak seems to be coming from behind or right above the pulley. What is that above the pulley? I will have to take it to the shop and see if they can do the pressure test and find where exactly the leak is coming from. hopefully it's not the water pump and timing belt b/c i just changed it 40,000 miles ago. You can see where the coolant is running down between the oil filter and the pulley.
