Clock light busted

The light on my clock was burnt out several days ago. I read the threads regarding this issue and attempted to replace the bulb myself. Went to Radioshack and got myself some of those 12V microlamps. I took apart the dash and took out the bulb. I replaced the bulb and wrapped the wires around those little hooks like they were for the original bulb. After several tries and four bulbs later, the light still won't come on. Would this be an issue with the actual clock itself? Has anyone experience this? Do I need to purchase a new clock for my car in order for the light to come back on?

I even tried screwing it on tighter and now the tread on the little holder is all messed up. I hope that doesn't effect the working order of the bulb.....?

I just found out the light does come on, it's just super dim. Would I be able to use a LED light for it? I bought some LED bulbs from Radioshack but not sure if they'd work without any modification to the clock or anything. Does anyone know?

I have replaced many of the bulbs in the instrument cluster (some bulbs I never knew existed until I opened up the cluster and looked at the back)

The amount of light the bulb emits will never match unless you buy the OEM bulb from Acura, I bought from a dealer, i would recommend doing that and changin the clock bulb should not take more than 15 mins (average)

there are no threads on the bulbs or the holder, only 2 raised spots on the bulb that lock in into the ring (the correct bulb should fit without any issues). Hope that helps.

Yeah, I was inpatient so I tried putting two bulbs into one holder. Guess what, now I have a fried circuit board. The clock stills work, but no more light.

Thanks for the help anyway, now I will have to look for a new clock, sheat!

Currently on time but in the dark.

Please advise how you accessed the bulb for the clock. What sections of the instrument panel did you remove and how?

Thanks
