Guys, I need your help. Just the other day the check engine lite came on and stays on. Check manual and said make sure gas cap is on tight and drive it three times before it would go off. I did that and still on Plus I notice after 70 miles on last fill up the guage has not moved still idicates full????

I search the archives and didn't find anything with engine lite on and fuel gauge still full tank.

Any thoughts or ideas before I take it to the Acura dealer?

 

Take it down to a local auto parts store like autozone and have them put the code scaner on it and see what it comes up with for a code. then come back here with it and we can try to help

Guys, the fuel gauge moved down to three quarters this morning when I started it up so I think the gauge is fine it just took longer than I thought.

Vespia's checked the engine code. The code was P1457 Manufacturer Controlled Aux Emission Control. EVAP code. He cleared the code said it could be a bad sensor but nothing that would hurt the engine. He said if comes back on and will need to diagnosis and that would be few hours and about $145 to find out exactly what it was.

Any ideas?

 

I have had similar probs and taken my '99 to Autozone 3 times, different guy each time, and they and myslelf for the life of us, can't find the stinkin' brain on this thing. I have to be the idiot of the year. Any help with locating the diagnostic center/brain? Thanks

my check engine light just came on but its just giving me bad gas mileage. Im at 85 miles for almost a 1/2 tank.

Well if your getting that bad of mileage id get it looked at. Thats not even normal under race conditions. Get the code read somewhere or bring it in.
