My check engine light came on like a week or 2 ago and I just had my buddy read it. The code p1676 and p1705 came up. I know p1705 has something to do with the trans which I just had rebuilt like 2 or more years ago but I prob only put 5000 to no more than 7000 miles on it. Not really sure what the p1676 is. Does any one know what these codes are and how to troubleshoot them? thanks!

Anyways...these two threads may help...there's a diagnosis in the first thread, and also the guy in the second thread replaced his ignition switch and it solved the problem. You have a 99 so it could be that.

Nvm, same guy posted in both threads. It's most likely your ignition switch.
