check engine light

I just had my resonator removed from the exhaust and did a straight pipe, now my "check engine" light is on. I went to autozone and they told me it was an o-2 problem... do i just need to reset my ECU/car? or did the exhaust place do something to my car?

Sometimes the extra flow fools the O2 sensor
Solution is to install one of the "spark plug anti fouler"
its an extension you would normally screw a spark plug into
but also works to remove the O2 slightly fromthe higher flow

Removing the resonator will not cause this. This would be caused by removing the CAT or while removing the resonator the exhaust fell or something possibly damaging the rear o2

Reset the code first and see if it doesn't come back.

If it does, you may need to replace your O2 sensor.

Does anyone know where I can purchase a "mechanic" book for a 2002 TL-S? U know those books that explains everything down to the bolt/wire? i see them mostly for Intergras and Legends, i don't think i've ever seen one for a TL-S.

Well i would reset the light. If it comes back on something is wrong. Are you sure it was the resonator that was removed and not the cat? Check the rear o2 wiring for any damage.
Reset teh ecu by pulling the clock backup fuse on the passengers side dash fuse panel.

The Helms manual is the best manual for our cars. BUT the version that covers the 02-03 model is back ordered (the 99-01 is avail only)

the resonator being the muffler looking thing right? and to reset is just disconnecting the battery right?

I would maybe go back to the place that did it and have them look at it. Sounds like they damaged the O2 sensor (probably the rear one) It shouldnt come on because you removed the resonator
