I changed my front mount in my 02 tls a while back and i kinda feels like it went again?! Is there supposed to b a gap between the rubber and the top part. when ever i hit a bump i feel a thud like somethins loose. also when i start it i hear a thud.Could it be broke again??

Are your other engine mounts OK? If one or more of the other mounts are shot you can get a premature failure of a new one.

Other than a visual inspection, I'm not sure. Perhaps someone else can offer additional advice on this.

yeah id think so too, but they did have it under warrenty so i didnt have to pay anything, i think they might have replaced 2 different ones but the front was done at leasts twice, why does the engine mount fail? is this even common? all i do is drive it from work and to the gym. Its completely stock and i dont race it. it only has 83k on it

Y they fail?? They are vacum assisted to help keep the idle smoother, and to firm up to allow better use of power to the wheels (less engine movement) and yes failure of them is fairly common
