Center Console lid

Hey! I'm new here, so I hope this is the right place for this. I have a 2003 Acura TL base model that I recently purchased, and the center console top lid lock is broken, so I went ahead and ordered a new one. It's not here yet, but in the mean time I saw that there were loose screws on the top lid that fits over the mounting hardware for the hinge part of the console, so I removed the lid to investigate. In doing so, I no longer can fit the lid back onto the piece that it slides over to fully push the lid back, and now I'm stuck wondering why it wont go back on after it was on fine before. The screws that were loose also weren't the right ones, as they were too short. Any suggestions?

So, you are having trouble getting #18 back into #14?
All I can suggest is if you removed it, it will go back in, you just have to 'mess' with it.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm having trouble with! No amount of brute force, wiggling, or gentle pushing works, so I'm stumped.

#18; armrest hinge, has a 'sliding' feature which allows it, when the armrest is down, to move forward while driving to extend the armrest over the console.
Try sliding that frame component out of the armrest hinge; in turn, that may allow you to insert it into #14.
Like I stated, you are going to have to mess around with it, the armrest hinge assembly, to figure out how it reinstalls back into #14.

Thank you for the tip. I just fixed it about 5 minutes ago, actually. The problem was that there were hooks on #14, one for the plastic cover, and one to hook into #13. I didn't see the latter, and thus it wouldn't go in until I found them.

Is that latch adjustable? Mine isn't fully securing the lid, and causing it to pop open when hitting bumps.

#15 armrest lock & #16 tray lock are each fastened by tapping screws, so there may be a little adjustability there.
Just like with reinserting the armrest hinge into the armrest after removal, you have to 'mess' with it to get the locks to bite in place sometimes.
