the center console latch in my 99 has broken off, so the console is constantly springing up unless i hold my arm on it.....as you can imagine this is extremely annoying....does anyone know if i can get a new latch or a new console lid and where?> thanks in advance for any help...

Are you sure that it's broken?

Sometimes the gears just slip and the doors won't latch. This is a fairly common problem. If that's the case, you can readjust the gears and fix it.

I had the same problem on my 1999 TL and it just needed a gear adjustment.

 

I just replaced the latches on both sections of my center console.
Go to the site mentioned above. I think the parts for it are under "Rear Console".
If one of yours is broke, you may want to go ahead and order the other latch, as it is probably not far behind in breaking, and you'll save on shipping charges.
