hey guys quick question i cant seem to figure it out after i take my key out or when its on acc not start i hear a humming noise coming from my car its quiet from the inside but loud when i stand outside

 

its for a 2003 tl type s and also its happens every 2-3 min so it would stop and then start humming again

 

Is the cooling fan running?

 

Where do you hear it from? Engine? Underneath?

 

open the hood and ck for driver side fan operation as noise
It should run a minute or 2 if the engine is hot

If it runs 5-10 minutes you have a bad fan temp sendor- located lower passenger side corner of rad, easy DIY

 

I wonder if it is his fan. He says it stops for a few minutes and starts again.

 

its not the fan its coming from the back could it be the purge solonoid or something i remeber another member here had a similar problem
