Brakes or Tranny

2003, TL Type S, 170000m, 2nd tranny(80000m) When I go to brake the car has a very noticable lurching motion as I slow down. More noticable if a/c on. It is not the rotors or brake pads as they look great, nor is it the tires, can it be something else in the brake system or is this the tranny causing the problem? Anyone? Thanks Keith
