Brake Warning Light
Anyone have an experience with the brake warning light going on when braking for a while and then not? Here's the details:
Yesterday morning after pulling out of the garage (temp 28) and stopping at the end of the driveway, the brake warning light went on. Continued driving and about two block later it went off. Came up to a light and when I braked it went on again. This went on all the way to work. Seemed like no impact on braking ability. Called the dealer who said it sounded like a burned out bulb, so I checked them at lunch. All the bulbs were working. Same story on the way home (light on when I braked, off after a couple of blocks back on when I braked. Brakes stopped fine. Just to check things out I braked really hard from about 25mph on a side street and had no problem stopping. Got home and checked the brake fluid and it was fine. Called the dealer and they said bring it in tomorrow (today). Went out later in the evening to get gas and no brake warning light. Same thing all the way to the dealer (no brake warning light) this morning. Dealer took car for a test drive, checked brake fluid and lights and said everything is fine. Said maybe the float in the brake fluid container got stuck and the car thought it was low on fluid. Either the hard braking or removing the cap loosened the float. Said to monitor it and bring it back if it happens again.
Anyone have a similiar experience and if so did you find out what it was? Thanks

No, but it sounds like that may have been the problem with the float stuck or just a quirk in the system. If all is well and the dealer said the same, just keep an eye on it in case it happens again.
