Question "Brake Lamp" red light on my dash

So i replaced all my oem bulbs with LED bulbs a couple of days ago. Once i hit the brakes, this "brake lamp" light turned on on my dash. I got out of the car to find that a bulb was defective i guess, so i got it replaced for free. Turns out the "brake lamp" light keeps turning on. It turns on when i put my foot on the brakes, and after that it just stays on. I read somewhere on here about a little black sensor that the brake triggers. Anyone knows what it is that is going on? All my lights work fine.

More than likely, what is happening is that the LED brake light bulbs are not creating enough resistance in the circuit, therefore making the car think that a bulb is out and triggering that Brake Lamp light on the dash.

When you replace the OEM bulbs with LEDS, you usually need to use load resistors, or else the brake lamp light will be triggered. The LEDS do not have enough current draw to prevent the light from coming on, so you need to place a load resistor in the line to fix this.

Talking

thank you all gentlemen. When i installed my LEDs the vendor said a resistor would come in handy for the quick-blinking-ticking of my blinkers, but quite frankly, he never told me about it affecting my brake lamp. Thanks for the i will just go ahead and get my resistor from him for like 15 bucks.

IIRC, you will need a resistor for every light you replaced, or else it will keep coming up as having a burnt out bulb!
