You mean the parking brake indicator on the dash the one is light up?
If it is , mean something wrong with your break.
you need to get it check out.
Cuz brakes is really important.

could be a bulb that is out/blown. check all the brake lights (even the 3rd brake light)
make sure you plugged all the harness's back together

You might check your brake fluid level ...brake light will light up if your fluid is low...

If its the Lamp indicator you have a bulb thats out or going out. You need ti inspect each one and find the one thats bad. If its the "Brake" light indicator check your fluid level, and double check that the float on the cap is moving freely.

Are you checking EVERY tail light bulb? Did you pull each one out and physically check that each one is working tail lights on and brakes?? Check all your blinkers and backup lights as well

Have someone push the brake pedal while you look at the back of the car
There are 2 brake light bulbs on each side plus the deck mounted light
I dont know if that has 1 or 2 bulbs, but if it only lights 1 side of it......that would mean 2

Like fsttyms said- try the flashers and check all the turn signal bulbs

Are any of the bulbs weak compared to the others- thats a bad ground connection

Do all the parking light bulbs - first click of headlight switch- work too?-
they are part of the brake light bulbs

Well before i spent the money at the dealer i would spend 10 bucks on new bulbs to see if that solves it. There may be a bulb thats causing a slight impedance mismatch and causing the light to come on.

other wise you can check by unplugging the 6pin connectors and measure the voltage (on the 6 pin connector wireside) between the black and wht/grn

There ARE 2 bulbs in the 3rd brake light, but they aren't monitored by the Brake Light Failure Sensor.

If you're sure all brake bulbs are fine (other signal bulbs ARE NOT associated with this circuit),
then check the Brake Light Failure Sensor behind the left taillight.
It has a 5-pin conn, #3=Green

It has a 5-pin conn, #3=Green from both tailights, #6=Yel. If yellow has 12vdc with ign on, sensor may be bad.

My 3rd break light blown.
And I didn't see any lights indicator on the dash.
check your brake fluid, and the brake pads.
Cuz some car have a sensor on the pad (telling you if the pad are low), like my mom's car.
I don't know if acura have one or not

While your input is appreciated, please limit yourself to FACTS on a TL that you know and can back up.
Guessing--- based on a different car---- does not help solve anyones problem, especially electrical issues!
The TL has seperate brake LAMP and fluid warning lights,
owner manual available free online- read up
The TL brake warning is a metal tab that squeels when you apply the brakes, not a bmw style electrical pad

try this, remove the brake master cylinder cap and flip it upside down. there is a float that reads brake fluid on the cap. you can slide that float by hand. make sure the float is towards the cap end while is upside down check on your light , see if it goes away .

he has a brake LAMP light, not a system warning light
If its not a bulb, it has to be a sensor as detailed a few post back

Chill dude, Exactly WHAT part of your post was HELPFUL???, is the whole point of my post to you

Opinions go in the Ramblings section- this is TECH HELP area- problems and fixes

If you wish to speculate on the meaning of life and brake light failures, do it in the proper forum-

All I am saying is give FACTS a chance when in the help areas

What ever men...
All I know you guys said if the break lights is out, you'll see a break indicator on the dash.
I had my 3rd break lights out when I got my wife car about 2 month ago, and I don't have the light indicator on the dash.
That what I try to say here on thread before.
And usually is the because the brake fluid being low.( I had that happent before)
I don't know if acura so special or different from the others.
I know some expensive car have the sensor on the pad.(not the metal clip)

Exactly! If you don't post "just the facts" in this sub-forum, pretty soon you'll end up with guesses, speculation, and fabrications in other areas. Y'know, like say...egr systems in the performance parts & mods section. Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Rambling threadjack
Most car problems can be traced to the owners karmic resolution or display of their personal emotional situation at the moment~

I made a good living as the physic mechanic! Wave my hand over the hood and say:
So your water pump went out?, where in life are you losing your cool?
Your steering is off- where in life do you lack direction?
The brakes dont work like they used to?- you need new brakes!!!!

I am making a big joke, none of those parts even exist- (except cabin air filter)
so thats why a post like that would be in the ~wild guessing~ area,
not the TECH HELP area

Sure- if you read a thread and had the same prob and fixed it on your car, post your results- no prob with that at all- thats why we all come here--to share KNOWLEDGE

It was the guessing and info based on a different type of car thats a problem.
I suggest you read the owner book- so many answers can be found there on operation of lights and where fuses are located etc.
In the book you learn about the dash warning lights and what each means.
Yes, The Acura is special in everything: from $6 turn signal bulbs and $150 headlight bulbs to what the procedure to change the trans fluid is--

the TL is different from most cars I have ever worked on in 30something years of wrenching for pay or pleasure.

I know if all that doesn't exist.
And I also knows if acura is more upper class car. (unique)
I was a mechanic for 6 years.
Did motor swap, and put a big block on camaro before( that was fun)
I know if you have alot more experince than I do. (30 years is along time).
LIke What I said, I just dont like the way you talk to me.
Feel like you treat me with out respect.
I know if the fact if you alot older than I am and more experince on anything (offcourse).
thank you.

We tend to joke with each other on this board, many of us give time every day HELPING people resolve problems- diagnose codes- understand warranties and more
What I read in your post is half sentances that dont provide any information, making it very difficult to understand YOUR point
And that hurt your feelings? It wasnt a personal attack- ask anyone who has seen me on a bad day!

Let me apologize to you though, if I came across wrong-
its not YOU I lack respect for- its the writing style that is difficult for me to understand, sort of like text messages

Most people here know I have an odd sense of humor, and a lifetime of mechanical knowledge behind my answers to serious questions, Pilot-racer-diver-mechanic.

If you want to know about TL brakes- I am the answer man 98% of the time, because I had caliper failures and had to figure them out while upgrading the system.

If you have suspension or engine questions- fsttyms1- fast times won- is the man who knows all, AND is our gen2 forum Moderator. His 00 TL went 200k miles on the original engine and it looked new inside still, and 5 auto transmissions failed, then he dropped in a different motor and 6 speed manual trans, giving him the ONLY 2000 TL-S anywhere, a car they never made- he made one for himself

So please- if you KNOW how to fix the stated prob in any thread- speak up
If you want to ramble and express opinions on subjects, there are areas for that too

The car has DOT3 in it now, if you just need a top off it means you have low brake pads -that fluid went somewhere, its leaking or sitting in the extra space inside the caliper
Find out which!
And any brand dot3 is fine for now, when you do the brakes- flush the fluid and use DOT4 synthetic

I havent read this whole thread but if it hasnt been said yet just because this light isnt on dont assume all your lights are working. I had two parking lights out (one on each side) and this light didnt come on because all my break lights were fine.

ok finally figured it out... and I'm sure Aznxxxd kid has too a year later. But for those who might have the same problem in the future and use the search function for some answers, the solution is that you have to snap the brake lights in pretty hard for it to work. You can't just place it in, you will need to hear a click for it to be installed right.
